Elleste
(estradiol +/- norethisterone acetate)

What is Elleste?

Elleste is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) which is used to provide relief from the
symptoms of menopause.1-5

Elleste is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
indicated in estrogen deficiency symptoms
in post- and peri-menopausal women. During the menopausal transition, the levels of estrogen in a woman’s body start to decline. These hormonal variations can cause vasomotor symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats and also other psychological symptoms.6 Vasomotor symptoms are quite common during perimenopause and usually respond well to estrogen therapy. However, the addition of a progestogen is required in women who have an intact uterus to prevent endometrial hyperplasia and cancer.3-5

Prescribing Information

Benefits of combination therapy of estradiol and norethisterone acetate

The addition of a progestogen cyclically for at least 12 days per month/28 day cycle or continuous combined estrogen-progestogen therapy in non-hysterectomised women prevents the excessive risk of endometrial hyperplasia and carcinoma associated with estrogen-only HRT.3-5

Elleste Solo 2mg, Elleste Duet 2mg and Elleste Duet Conti 2mg can also be used as a second line agent to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.2,4,5
